Medical skin care

Our specially trained general practitioner offers a range of medical skin care from regular skin cancer checks to treatment of skin conditions and minor surgeries. We can treat for a range of skin conditions including acne, rosacea, skin tags, moles, skin rashes and other blemishes.

Skin cancer occurs when skin cells are damaged. Skin cancer can be caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun, but even skin that has never been exposed to the sun can develop cancer.

The main types of skin cancer are:

  • basal cell carcinoma
  • squamous cell carcinoma
  • melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer

The sooner a skin cancer is identified, and treatment commences, the better your chance of avoiding surgery or, in the case of a serious melanoma or other skin cancer, potential disfigurement or even death.

Regular check-ups ensure early detection, and this is key to effectively treating skin cancer. A full-body check every 12-months is recommended, but if you notice any changes to specific moles or blemishes, you should contact a general practitioner immediately.
